One evening whilst heavily under the influence of alcohol, my friend persuaded me to sign up to run the Stephen Siller (New York firefighter) Tunnels to Towers race in New York which raises money for charities formed following the 9/ 11 tragedy. This on the face of it didn’t seem a bad idea, it was only 5 kilometres and I was sure I could manage that.

However, starting to jog again at the age of 55 having not jogged in more than 5 years was a lot harder than I thought, especially as the race was only 6 weeks away and I was going to have 3 weeks of that on holiday in France! I set off with all good intentions but after the spectacular distance of about 50 metres I realised this was not going to be an easy task.

I kept walking a little and tried to jog a bit but not with any success. I was out of breath, out of condition and definitely out of my depth. Having paid out my $50 dollar entry fee and bought my plane ticket I soon realised I needed some expert help in getting my fitness to a level I could manage to run the race without being passed by the kindergarten crowd. I enlisted the help of David who motivated me to set up a training programme. David introduced me to a correct warm up regime and took me through a variety of different challenges over the next 3 weeks progressively increasing the level and distance I ran. He is very knowledgeable and gave me the confidence and motivation to continue my training even on holiday.

The final run before the big day I not only managed to complete 4 miles, I even turned down the opportunity to stop for a breather half way. So off I went to the Big Apple and partook in the race which was fantastic and would encourage anyone to give it a go. I finished easily and the atmosphere was fantastic with over 30,000 people taking part. I would highly recommend David to any sports performer from novices like me to more accomplished athletes. He will be able to raise their performance levels regardless of ability and takes note of physical restrictions or impediments which people may have.

David is very personable and professional and can make a vast difference to a person’s fitness levels in a very short time. His routines are simple but effective and carefully planned beforehand. I believe that if anyone wishes to enlist his services they will find it great value and will enjoy the way it’s delivered and explained.

Following a season of high success with my kicking from a tee, I went into pre-season doing next to nothing practice wise and therefore struggled this season with poor success rates. With his high knowledge of kicking stances and routines, David broke the whole issue into tiny bits and re-built my routine. He did this in a short space of time allowing me to see where exactly I was going wrong. Also he tackled the mental aspect of my problems and I quickly regained my self-belief and self-confidence to regain the high success rate of my previous season. David was very professional and I would highly recommend him for sorting out any niggles in anyone’s game or looking at ways of improving”

Having received fitness and agility training from David, I can see that the style and variation of the training has vastly improved my core strength and explosive power. 


David is very professional, makes it simple through his manner of instruction and gives one confidence to transfer the skills from the training ground to the rugby pitch. David is motivational and drives individuals forward to improve their skill set and stamina and as part of a team it is clear to see for all that David’s unique coaching has made a difference in a relatively short period of time.


The variation in David’s coaching programme makes tough training enjoyable and he will always strive to ensure that no 2 sessions are the same. By studying my style of running, passing and tackling David has given me individual tuition to work on aspects of my muscle development in order to improve my strength and provide my ageing joints with the flexibility to recover from the strain of a physical sport. 


There is no doubt in my mind that through David’s developed and vast knowledge of exercise physiology has made me a better athlete.
I would highly recommend him to any sports performer or team who wishes to raise performance levels and all round physical stamina.
