Functional Screening

Wooden-skeletonEssentials

Maximizing performance requires the body and brain to be functioning safely and efficiently. Using a screening methodology is a good way of observing movement imbalances in a performer. By function we mean a movement that is common and necessary for performing during physical activity and sport.

It is asymmetries and imbalances that contribute to the development of poor performance and chronic injuries.
The system used allows us to better individualise a training programme to achieve greater results.

This is achieved by working on the foundations of balance and creating movement patterns where the joints and muscles work as a continuous system, controlled by the neuromuscular system to ensure kinetic chain integration develops a strategy to improve movement quality, injuries will decrease and foundations put in place on which to improve of flexibility and stability upon which strength and power can be built to improve performance.

What we do

Assess the performers strengths, movement weaknesses and imbalances. Design a Home Training Programme
that if practiced regularly will guarantee performance improvement and a reduction in long term injury.
